AGENCY
Port Agency Grange Shipping acts as port agents for a variety of owners and charterers, attending vessels at any of the ports around the UK.
Cargoes handled include paper; zinc and aluminium from North America, Scandinavia and the emerging suppliers in Eastern Europe and the Baltic States. The company has a particular, some would say peculiar, expertise in the handling of explosive cargoes and is well recognised for cargo movements requiring specialist knowledge, handling and care.
Chartering
We have especially close links with a number of Danish and German owners. They operate both geared and un-geared vessels in the 2000 - 8000 DWT range on a worldwide basis.
These vessels can be used for the transport of project and special cargo movements requiring heavy lifts, segregation as well as containerised and bulk, bagged and general cargoes.
Freight Gathering In addition to pure ships agency and in conjunction with our forwarding arm, the company has devoted time, effort and resources into developing a freight gathering and sales role.
Sales leads, whether full/part load containers or a full ship are explored and our findings reported back to origin. This service is strictly neutral and available to our partners and principals alike in China, the USA and Australia.
We have excellent contacts with major shippers, forwarders and importers. Cargoes are varied, reflecting the diversity of shippers with which we deal. Consignments are mainly containerised, but we also handle a number of out of gauge and heavy lift cargoes.
Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS)
We are a company member, employing professionally qualified staff of the ICS. The Institute sets high standards of education and business practice and negotiates with government to facilitate the shipbroking business.
As members of the ICS we are able to authenticate correctly completed EUR1 and ATR1 preference certificates. Please contact this office for details
