SEAFAST LOGISTICS

Introduction
We are consumate cargo project specialists and the trouble shooting arm of Grange Shipping, researching and establishing options for moving 'difficult' cargoes into the more remote and sensitive of areas.

Our customers include government, NGO's and large corporations who need our unique specialist knowledge in commercial and military logistics to reliably deliver cargoes on a door-door basis.

The current areas of development include Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan by sea air and land freight in all their combinations, with further areas to follow. Movements are thorougly researched to identify reliable local partners and include 'feet on the ground' reconnaissance and attendance by SEAFAST personnel.

Cargoes include rolling machinery, vehicles, construction material and AIL (Abnormal Indivisible Loads) as well as the more common containers, reefers, flat-racks and platforms.

Afghanistan / Pakistan

We operate a container and cargo handling facility at Port Qasim. The facility is within the secure customs area of the port. It allows us flexibility to receive and deliver cargo that would otherwise require additional and expensive handling and storage within the Port.

In addition we have established a number of secure staging areas and escort procedures along the northern (Torkham) and southern (Quetta) route into Afghanistan. This allows us high levels of command, control and monitoring which  reduces pilferage and loss to an absolute minimum.

Our local haulage fleet has been upgraded and refitted. We have a fleet of 12 (uk spec) lo-loaders in place available for hire. In addition we maintain a pool of trusted (and tested) vehicles and drivers to meet our daily transport demand.

Iraq

In Iraq our services run into Umm Qasr with our in-theatre partner able (subject to risk assessment and local conditions) to arrange deliveries within most of the country.

Because of the current security situation Shipping Lines will not generally risk their equipment beyond the port. We are able to arrange unpacking at Umm Qasr (which is currently not recommended) or supply suitable equipment to buy or lease for 'one way' use.
